Your Important Free Invitation to the LPHCA AGM & Roadshow

This year’s FREE event is being held at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel on Thursday 4th July and is probably the most important event the LPHCA has undertaken.

The LPHCA always attracts the very best speakers and panellists for the presentations and panel sessions and this year we have a VIP from the USA speaking. Last year the capacity in the Main Hall allowed well over 200 delegates to be seated comfortably.

Event Overview and Description

The Roadshow comprises excellent networking and selling opportunities for exhibitors, combined with the chance to showcase their products and services to the attendees. There will also be informative industry presentations, offering both exhibitors and attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest industry news and projects.

Key Topics on the Agenda

The topics being discussed at this year’s 2024 event are outlined below and are an important reason why the LPHCA is inviting many licensed Private Hire Vehicle & Taxi businesses to attend, as many of these subjects will have an impact on their operations.

VAT on Fares Consultation

LPHCA Commercial Partner and industry tax expert Gary Jacobs of Eazitax will explain what is in this very important consultation and why all PHV operators and drivers should respond.

USA Perspective

The LPHCA is delighted to welcome a very special guest from the USA – Matt Daus, President of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (“IATR”). Matt is also one of the top 100 lawyers in the USA, practising at Windels Marx and specialising in taxi and transportation law.

A Viable National Licensing Scheme

Esteemed Industry lawyer and President of the Institute of Licensing (lol) James Button will set out what we have called the ‘Button Plan,’ which the association believes is a very viable proposal for national standards and licensing. This will make licensing quicker, cheaper, and easier.

Difficulties with Industry Medical Requirements

Tom Blain of D4drivers will give an update on why changes are needed for the medical requirements and how they have already helped drivers get licensed much faster where licensing authorities allow them to operate.

Transport for London (TfL) – New Regulations and Future Plans

After the FREE lunch provided for all attendees, guests and exhibitors, the afternoon session will commence with Transport for London Taxi & Private Hire (TfL TPH) outlining their new requirements from early July for Operators & Drivers. TfL will also cover future plans and potential consultations.

Women in Our Workplace – An Answer to Driver and Staff Shortages?

The final presentation will be from an expert panel of ladies comprising LPHCA members, Females in the Fleet and Think Pink, all of whom have been increasing the number of women in the industry. They will cover what they have done so far and what is needed to get even more women into our industry.

The Opportunity to Ask Questions

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of all the above experts during each session and at their designated stands throughout the day.

There will also be a special Vehicle Ambassador Exhibitor Hall, within the main exhibition upstairs, where the manufacturer’s representatives can arrange test drive appointments.

Due to the attendance of important fleet decision-makers from numerous Taxi and Private Hire companies, this exclusive event has generated significant financial sales for vehicle manufacturers and will provide the opportunity for operators to find the right vehicles to suit their specific needs.
