TaxiPlus is launching their groundbreaking National Taxi and Private Hire Survey, in partnership with leading industry news source, TaxiPoint.

TaxiPlus are a leading provider of safeguarding and screening solutions for UK local authority taxi and private hire licensing teams. Each year they process tens of thousands of DBS Checks for drivers. Engaging with drivers from across the UK, TaxiPlus hope to gain a broad range of responses to give a clear insight into the state of the trade.

The survey covers 9 sections from health & wellbeing to industry hot topics, to try and get a clear picture of how drivers see the industry. It is open to all current UK taxi and private hire drivers and takes around 10 minutes to complete. Every driver who completes the survey will automatically be entered into a draw for a £500 Amazon gift card.

Creating a neutral and trusted independent industry survey has been a goal for both companies for some time. The information gleaned from the survey will shine a light on key trends in the industry from a driver perspective and can be used to influence policy change in the future.

Commenting on the launch, TaxiPlus General Manager, Ryan Sidley said:

“It’s really exciting for us to be able to do something that could help shape the industry that drivers work in. We support thousands through the DBS Check process each year and we often hear of the difficulties and problems facing drivers. Hopefully, the information what the survey reveals can be a source of truth for all industry stakeholders.”

Perry Richardson, Founder of TaxiPoint and London black taxi driver, said:

“I’d urge everyone in the taxi and private hire industry to have their say on their industry.

“Since founding TaxiPoint, I have wanted to launch a neutral survey that captures the real voice of drivers from across the UK. Using this survey I hope the industry can better benchmark what’s working, and what’s not, both on local and national levels.

“If enough drivers take the time to share their opinion this can become an important tool used to influence policy change at Government and local authority levels to make the industry better for everyone.””

The survey will be running for around 10 weeks, with the final date for submissions being the 15th of September 2024. To take part in the survey, click here.
